Enabling Developer Mode on Android Devices

Why Developer Mode?

Developer Mode allows access to advanced features such as:

  • USB Debugging (for Flutter / Android development)

  • Viewing logs (Logcat)

  • Debugging apps and hardware connections (e.g., Arduino, BLE)


(1) Samsung Galaxy A15

Steps:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Scroll down and tap About phone

  3. Tap Software information

  4. Locate Build number

  5. Tap Build number 7 times

  6. Enter your phone password/PIN if prompted

  7. You will see: “Developer mode has been enabled”

Access Developer Options:

  • Go back to Settings

  • Scroll to Developer options (usually under “About phone” or “System”)


(2) Vivo 1907

Steps:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Scroll and tap System Management (or More settings depending on version)

  3. Tap About phone

  4. Find Software version / Build number

  5. Tap it 7 times

  6. Enter password/PIN if required

  7. Confirmation message appears

Access Developer Options:

  • Go to Settings

  • Navigate to System Management → Developer options


Important Settings to Enable (for Flutter / IoT Work)

After Developer Mode is enabled, turn on:

  • USB Debugging

  • Install via USB

  • Stay awake (optional for testing)


Notes / Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot find Build number, try:

    • Samsung: Software information

    • Vivo: Version / Software version

  • Some devices hide Developer Options under:

    • System

    • Additional settings

  • If USB debugging is enabled but not detected:

    • Reconnect USB cable

    • Accept “Allow USB debugging” prompt on device
