[4] Configure VM Settings

It is recommended that you configure the settings before running the VM.

[4.1] Add the ISO file for VMWare tools (refer Step 2 above)

[4.2] Add Shared Folder

In the options tab, click Shared folders item in the list.

In Folder sharing section, tick the Always enabled option, tick Map as a network drive in Windows guests.

In the Folders section, click Add... button to add the host folder and set the name and path accordingly.

[4.3] Install the VMWare tool in the Guest vm.

Run the Guest vm.

You see the CD Drive for the VMWare tool. Run the installer on that drive.

Restart the Guest vm.

Follow the OS-specific method to discover shared folders on network. For example, Windows 7 requires network discovery to be turned on in order to detect the shared folder on the host machine.
